لعب الرمز دوراً كبيراً في الفكر المصري القديم ، بل وعبر عن مدلول العديد من الأشياء بصيغ أو أشياء رمزية تدل عليها ، منها الأرقام خاصة الرقم إثني عشر والذي وجد بكثرة في مناظر الكتب الجنائزية في مصر القديمة ، فقد عبر عن ساعات الليل والموتى الصالحين وكذلك عبر عن البعث بعد الممات والموت وأتباع الآلهة كالإله أوزير وعبر عن العدالة والغرقى في بحيرات النار وكذلك عبر هذا العدد عن التعبد أو امداد سكان هذا العالم بالغذاء ومساعدة قارب رع والحماية وغيرها.

Abstract:
The symbol played a major role in ancient Egyptian thought, and even expressed the meaning of many things in symbolic formulas or objects denoting them, including numbers, especially the number twelve, which was found abundantly in the scenes of funerary books in ancient Egypt, as it expressed the night hours and the righteous dead, as well as expressing Resurrection after death and death, and the followers of the gods, such as the god Osiris, and expressed justice and those who drowned in the lakes of fire. This number also expressed worship or supplying the inhabitants of this world with food, aiding the boat of Ra, protection, and others.
