The Language of Tahar Ben Jelloun
in the novel "marriage of pleasure"

ABSTRACT:
In this research, we focused on the study of language and linguistic phenomenon in Ben Jelloun in order to highlight the aesthetic taste involving his novel "marriage of pleasure". This study emphasized the linguistic structures of his narration as an aesthetic value on which he relied in his novel dealing with lexical, syntactic and stylistic characteristics.
On the lexical level, we tried to study the different lexical fields on which the writer relied to construct the events of the novel, such as the religious field, the Moroccan dialect, racism, titles and nicknames, and Arabic phrases and structures borrowed from Arabic. On the syntactical level, we have treated certain grammatical characteristics which reflect to us the capacity and the skill of Ben Jelloun to adapt the language in order to express the various situations of his characters. Stylistically, we have highlighted a series of metaphors, comparisons, periphrases, personifications, metonymies, antitheses that reflect the great skill and aesthetic taste of Taher Ben Jelloun.
